About Us

20 years ago, I sat in an office at school waiting to see a teacher about my son. I was told that he was undoubtedly very bright, but struggling to master the skills required to put his ideas down on paper. His letters were frequently back to front or in the wrong place and in extreme cases upside down. His work was laid out in a haphazard fashion and the teachers were finding it difficult to make head or tail of what he was trying to say. Although he had been assessed to see if he was dyslexic, the school were aware that there was still something holding him back.

We were lucky. An extremely switched on learning support teacher had attended a talk by a visual perceptual psychologist and she recommended that I took my son to see her. After an intensive course, where my son worked with 3D apparatus such as Mozibloxs and pegs, the fog lifted for him. He needed explicit instructions to assimilate all aspects of visual information vital to learning in the classroom. For him, all directional and spatial relationships needed to be taught. Now he understood why it was better to structure and organise his written work to achieve better results.

My other two children followed the same path and responded positively to the course. In fact, I was so impressed with the results that I trained as a visual perceptual therapist and now run my own practice.

Through working with children with these difficulties, I have become aware of the dearth of material on the subject. We provide high quality resources for parents and teachers looking for inspiration and a creative way of teaching.
